FOLLOWING the news that the Duke of Edinburgh has died aged 99, we take a look back at some of Prince Phillip's visits to the North-East.
He was in the region many times, visiting shows, shipyards and sports stadia, plus meeting young people involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme.
The duke also visited on several occasions with the Queen, including for the golden jubilee tour in 2002.
