A NORTH-East housebuilder supported a local primary school as pupils return to the classroom with £100 book voucher donation.
Barratt Homes North-East partnered with Nunthorpe Primary Academy to celebrate the return to education and highlight the importance of literacy in children.
The partnership was also part of the belated World Book Day celebrations where students were encouraged to come dressed in their favourite pyjamas as they read bedtime stories with hot chocolates and snacks.
Gill Hurst, sales manager of Barratt Homes, said: "We are always looking for new ways to engage with the communities in which we build, so we are delighted to be supporting Nunthorpe Primary Academy as the children return to the classroom.
"Literacy skills are hugely important to children, both for their education and their mental wellbeing, and we’re happy that we have been able to make a difference.”
Alexa O'Gara, head teacher at Nunthorpe Primary Academy, said: "We are grateful for this donation from Barratt Homes."
