AN ARMY reservist turned psychologist has broken a world record for the most consecutive days of rowing – 50km a day for 50 days.

Sean Riley, from Catterick, who turns 50 this month, set himself the challenge to raise awareness and funds for the Camphill Village Trust, a charity which supports adults with learning disabilities.

Mr Riley is completing 50km a day for 50 days, which will end on his 50th birthday, on April 19.

Last week, Sean broke the world record for the most consecutive days of marathon distances on an indoor rower.

He said: “I’m still going and will complete the challenge on April 19.

“The challenge is the equivalent of running 31 miles a day for 50 consecutive days. It’s all for a good cause and all proceeds will go to Camphill Village Trust, a charity who provide residential support to those with sever learning and other disabilities to lead a life of opportunity.”

Mr Riley added: “The challenge has been significantly harder than anticipated but the aches and pains are well worth it to raise awareness of Camphill Village Trust and the fantastic work that they do.”
