A 74-year-old woman was left "very shaken" after more than £2,000 of damage was caused to her home.

The incident happened in the early hours of yesterday at a property in Brankin Drive, Darlington.

Durham Police say more than £2,000 of damage was caused to the house and vehicle after a window was smashed and a car scratched. 

A spokesperson said: "In the early hours of the 6th April 2021, over £2,000 worth of damage was caused to the house and vehicle of a 74-year-old lady, which has left her feeling very shaken.

"Local officers are appealing for any information that may identify any potential suspects in the area at the time of the incident."
