POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of supplying class A drugs after carrying out a warrant at a flat in Selby.
A quantity of white powder was discovered during the operation in Selby and a bundle of cash was also seized from the address.
Tests are ongoing but police believe the substance to be cocaine.
The operation was led by Selby Neighbourhood Policing Team, who worked with officers from the Operational Support Unit to enter the flat with a drugs warrant yesterday morning.
A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply and money laundering offences.
He has been released under police investigation while further enquiries, including laboratory tests of the seized substances, are carried out.
Police are urging anyone who has concerns or information about drugs in their community to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
A force spokesman said: “Information supplied by the public is always taken seriously and can be play a vital role in keeping communities safe and taking illegal drugs off the streets.”
