The following cases were heard at Teesside and Cleveland Magistrates Court this week.

MR DONINIC JOHN TAYLOR, 18 of Blakey Close in Middlesbrough was given a community order and disqualified from driving for two years after trespassing into someone’s home and stealing car keys, house keys, two watches, taking a vehicle without consent and damaging the vehicle and on another occasion trespassed into a different property and stole car keys and took another vehicle without the owner’s consent damaging the vehicle in the process. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £160.02 in compensation, £90 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MR IAN DOBEL, 36 of HMP Northumberland and Acklington in Morpeth was committed to prison for 16 weeks after being caught behind the wheel under the influence of drugs, two cases of committing fraud and making a gain of £58. A prison sentence was given due to a record of previous offending. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services.

MISS DONNA MARLE FOXTON, 40 of Eastern Avenue in Langley Park was committed to prison for 16 weeks after assaulting a police officer, a police constable, being drunk and disorderly and damaging a police cell to the value of £125. Her sentence was aggravated by a record of previous offending. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services.

MR DAVID CHRISTOPHER EDWARDS, 40 of Fernie Road in Guisborough was given a community order after three cases of not paying for fuel while filling up his car and failing to surrender to Middlesbrough Magistrates Court. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £262.53 in compensation.

MISS JADE LOUISE COOPER, 28 of Bridge Road in Stockton was discharged conditionally for 12 months after assaulting a police officer and failing to surrender to Teesside Magistrates Court. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £100 in compensation.

MISS NICOLA STOCKTON, 54 of West End Way in Stockton was committed to prison for 6 months suspended 24 months after stealing a number of items from Next to the value of £11,900. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £7,500 in compensation.

MR PETER THOMAS SHARP, 36 of Tristram Avenue in Hartlepool was given a community order and disqualified from driving for 43 months after being caught behind the wheel under the influence of cocaine, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and driving whilst under the influence of MDA. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £95 to victim services and £85 Crown Prosecution Service.

MR RICHARD DAVID BUNKER, 32 of Pennington Close in Stockton was fined £80 after taking a car to use for themselves, driving without insurance, driving without a licence to drive the car and failing to provide a breath sample. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £34 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MR ROBERT JAMES LEE HALL, 48 of Ellison Street in Hartlepool was given a community order after assaulting a police sergeant, failing to surrender to Cleveland Magistrates Court and committing the offence during a conditional discharge. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £100 in compensation, £95 to victim services and £85 to Crown Court Prosecution Service.

MR KEIRAN JAMES HELLWELL, 32 of Cotherstone Road in Stockton was fined £2,000 for taking a vehicle without consent, driving without a licence, driving without third party insurance, and obstructing a police constable. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £120 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MISS JAYNE LOUISE HONOR, 47 of Outram Street in Middlesbrough was discharged conditionally for six months after three cases of stealing two joints of meat from Iceland. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £34 in compensation.

MISS LEON CHRISTOOHER OWENS, 27 of Myers Avenue in Hartlepool was committed to prison for an overall sentence of 23 weeks and disqualified from driving for 36 moths after driving whilst under the influence of THC, driving whilst being disqualified from driving, driving without insurance, being in the possession of cannabis, driving while under the influence of cocaine and failing to surrender to Teesside Magistrates Court. These offences were committed while the defendant was under a suspended sentence. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services and £420 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MR GARRON MULRANEY, 48 of Crescent road in Middlesbrough was committed to prison for 9 weeks suspended for 18 months and fined £100 after stealing makeup from Boots to the value of £170, committing the offence during a suspended sentence and failing to surrender to Teesside Magistrates Court. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £87 in compensation.

WYNARD MOTOR CO LTD, of Portrack Lane in Stockton was fined £1,000 after failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver who was alleged to be guilty of an offence. The defendant was proved guilty in absence.

MR STUART ANTHONY ROBSON, 43 of Studly Road in Hartlepool was fined £415 after driving without insurance and driving while being on the phone. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £41 and £85 of court costs.

MR ASHLEY PLUNKETT JOHNSON, 27 of Birdsell Road in Redcar was committed to prison for 16 weeks suspended for 24 months after stealing fragrances to the value of £140 belonging to Boots, stealing alcohol to the value of £400 from ASDA, attempting to steal alcohol, razors and children’s toys to the value of £1,060 belonging to ASDA, stealing alcohol to the value of £97.50 from ASDA, threatening to smash a someone’s windows, stealing cigarettes and lager to the value of £29.60 belonging to Sainsburys, stealing larger to the value of £24.60 belonging to Sainsburys, stealing vodka, cigarettes, and lager to the value of £45.10 from Sainsburys, stealing cigarettes, lager and cider to the value of £52.70 belonging to Longbeck Service Station, stealing cigarettes to the value of £27.90 from Sainsburys and stealing biscuits and chocolate to the value of £42.55 from Sainsburys. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to £128 to victim to services.

MR MARK TURNBULL, 39 of Landale Place in Newton Aycliffe was committed to prison for 16 weeks after assaulting two police officers by spitting on them. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £100 in compensation, £121.96 to victim services and £40 to Crown Prosecution Service.
