A NORTH-East farm could see the partial demolition and refurbishment of a house and agricultural buildings a planning application to Durham County Council has revealed.
The house and agricultural buildings were purchased by a family living nearby in Willington and the aim of the proposal is to refurbish the house and convert the agricultural buildings into living accommodation.
The buildings are currently unused and are showing decline and, according to the Design and Access Statement, has suffered from vandalism and neglect in recent years.
Work could see all new stonework for the building coloured in grey to match the existing aesthetic of the building, as well as new half dormer windows on the property.
The existing red-bricked barn structure on the site could be taken down and a matching single story structure could take its place
Two two-story granny flats could be created from the existing unused stables and piggery which could be used by the families grandparents.
