Remarkable Places to Eat (BBC2, 8pm)

IT feels like an age since we were able to go out and enjoy a meal with friends and family. As we look forward to that happening again, Fred Sirieix launches a new run of this series in which leading food experts take him for a bite to eat at their favourite restaurants. First up is Bake Off champ-turned-national treasure Nadiya Hussain. Although now based in Milton Keynes, she lived for many years in Leeds, and is married to a Yorkshireman, and she returns with Sirieix to show off Yorkshire’s culinary highlights. Along the way they sample traditional bakes, cheese and samosas. Fred is in for a real treat, from incredible bakes to authentic Indian eats, world-class cheese and the freshest crab. Nadiya is on a mission to prove that when it comes to food, Yorkshire has it all. They also visit Saltburn's Seaview restaurant.

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer (C4, 8pm)

We’ve witnessed the good, the bad and the ugly in the tent so far this series, and no doubt there’ll be more of the same as judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood set another tricky trio of challenges. Cocktail-flavoured fondant fancies (try saying that after having a few), a pastry-based technical and a showstopper featuring something they can’t live without made from biscuit and meringue are the order of the day. But how will presenter Stacey Dooley, Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall, internet star KSI and comedian Katherine Ryan get on?

The Syndicate

The Syndicate

The Syndicate (BBC1, 9pm)

The fourth series of Kay Mellor’s lottery-based drama has been a long time coming – it’s six years since its predecessor aired – but it promises to be just as entertaining as ever. As fans already know, each run focuses on a different group and all have attracted impressive casts. The latest is no different, with Neil Morrissey, Mark Benton, Gaynor Faye, Kym Marsh, Katherine Rose Morley and, in his TV acting debut, Joe Sugg, set to appear. This time the story involves the staff at Woodvale Kennels, who have been in a lottery syndicate for years. One member, Keeley, could use a win – she’s heavily in debt and bailiffs are knocking. A share seems fortunate and timely, but then the group discover it could be a lot more than that.

Britain’s Tiger Kings – On the Trail with Ross Kemp (ITV, 9pm)

Last year, Netflix launched the documentary Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness on an unsuspecting world. Whether it’s because we shortly afterwards entered into lockdown and had little with which to occupy our time but watch TV, it was a massive success. It was recently announced that Louis Theroux’s next project will see him come face-to-face with its main protagonist, Joe Exotic, but before then, Ross Kemp meets Brits who, like Mr Exotic, enjoy keeping big cats as pets. Incredibly, there are around 4,000 dangerous creatures such as lions, bears, crocodiles, giant snakes and, of course, tigers, in private hands in this country. Kemp comes face-to-face with some of them, including animals belonging to a former circus trainer who hires them out to production companies, and the lions being kept in someone’s back garden.

Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild (Channel 5, 9pm)

In the first of a new series, Ben ventures deep into the Scottish Highlands, home to Iona and her young family. Ben wonders if he’s going to spend the week with a laird and lady in a grand Scottish castle, but he quickly discovers the hard graft this family has to endure. He drives cattle on horseback, digs out a dam to ensure the family’s hydro-electricity supply, gets to grips with the annual deer cull, dives for scallops and marvels at parenting a baby in the wild. He finds out what drove Iona’s French husband Julien to move to the Scottish mountains and how Iona’s past prepared her for this life.

Being Jewish (BBC1, regions vary)

Every religion marks the circle of life with rituals and ceremonies – but how are they commemorated in multi-faith Britain? A new five-part series aims to find out. It begins with a focus on our Jewish communities, paying particular attention to 12-year-old Ethan, who is about to have his bar mitzvah, while Jolanda and Jack prepare to tie the knot in a modern ceremony adapted to fit in with their beliefs. The programme is followed by Being Hindu, in which Bhumi and Chirag mark the birth of their son, while Priti carries out her father’s wish for a traditional funeral.
