Grayson talks to Rose Wylie, who became an art world star in her 70s. There’s a peak inside the studio of Lucy Sparrow, who uses felt to create colourful replicas of everyday food items. Comedian Mawaan Rizwan makes his own piece of food-related art, and food writer and TV chef Nigella Lawson helps to choose the favourite public art submissions of the week.

As part of the channel’s 50th birthday celebrations in 2014, this programme delves into the archives for rarely seen moments from some of the greatest names in comedy. It features clips from unbroadcast pilots including Miranda Hart’s Joke Shop, Stephen Fry’s first appearance as QI host and a sitcom starring the band Madness, as well as footage of Spike Milligan, Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, Rik Mayall, Billy Connolly, and Sacha Baron Cohen’s first incarnation of Borat, an Albanian called Christo. Tamsin Greig narrates.

The second sequel to the stylish German thriller Deutschland 83 continues. As Martin struggles to keep his son Max safe, various agencies look to recruit the superspy. And with the HVA up till their necks in trouble, they cannot be trusted to save Martin anymore. When Brigitte Winkelmann visits him, he considers taking her offer up, and is eventually left with three choices – “You get arrested or killed or get hired”. Elsewhere, Lenora Rauch receives a visit from an old friend, Rose. And at the HVA, Walter Schweppenstette is sent on a new assignment.

By avoiding the tourist traps, the MasterChef judge sees a new side to the city. Over three days, Gregg explores one of Italy’s most distinct food cultures, eats in cheap neighbourhood trattorias, explores the city’s fascinating and surprising history, and meets the locals who make Venice so special.

This week’s show features another typically eclectic selection of musicians, beginning with Laura Mvula, who will be choosing and discussing her favourite performances from the Later… archive. The songstress will also share news on what she has been up to since she was last on the show in 2016 and update viewers on her forthcoming third album. Performing on the show and making their TV debut is South London post-punk four-piece Dry Cleaning. Filmed at East London’s Moth Club, they’ll play their recent BBC 6 Music play-listed track, Scratchcard Lanyard. Finally, the show also welcomes back legendary Modfather Paul Weller who invites viewers into his Black Barn studios in Surrey for a special performance of a track from his forthcoming LP, Fat Pop (Volume 1).

Alias star Jennifer Garner also drops by to discuss the family comedy Yes Day, and singer/songwriter Tom Odell performs his new single Numb.
