THE number of new Covid-19 cases reported across every postcode area in the North-East and North Yorkshire have been revealed.
Latest Public Health England data for the region shows the number of new cases that were reported in the seven days to February 26.
The data, which is collated in an interactive map, shows almost every area in County Durham, Darlington, Teesside and North Yorkshire has confirmed cases.
The map splits the country up by Middle Super Output Area (MSOA), which are small areas with an average population of 7,200.
While there is some delay on the data, it is updated every weekday and the map shows the latest seven days for which complete data is available.
For areas with fewer than three cases, Public Health England does not show data to protect people's identities.
It comes as Chancellor Rishi Sunak extended furlough and other support in the Budget yesterday.
Covid support measures were extended past June 21 when all restrictions are expected to have been lifted. Mr Sunak says this is in order to give businesses an “extra cushion”.
The first phase of unlocking the economy begins with schools reopening on March 8, next week, with the government continuing with its road map as long as hospitalisations do not rise.
Regionally, every area has seen a fall in cases.
County Durham has 556 cases, down 175, compared with 148 cases in Darlington, down 31.
On Teesside, Stockton has 254 cases, down 123, and there are 222 cases in Middlesbrough, down 155. There are 147 cases in Hartlepool, down 25, and 137 in Redcar and Cleveland, down 76.
Richmondshire has 49 cases, which is down 9, while there are 61 cases in Hambleton, down 2.
