TWO people have been arrested following a series of police raids on in east Durham this morning.
Durham Police officers executed three magistrates’ search warrants at addresses in Easington, Blackhall and Horden.
At the address on Bourne Street, Easington Colliery, a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft from a motor vehicle.
At an address on Warren Street, Horden, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft from a motor vehicle, theft from a shop, and making off without payment.
Four untaxed vehicles were seized in connection with the offences.
DS Mark Garfoot said: “We’d like to reassure residents in these areas that we will always act on intelligence gathered through communities and investigation.
“I’d encourage anyone with information relating to criminal activity to have the confidence to get in touch with us. “We won’t tolerate criminality, and we hope that this positive action demonstrates that.”
An investigation is ongoing.
