THE following cases were heard at Teesside Magistrates Court this week.

MR LIAM ANTHONY NORMANTON, 25 of Worcester Gardens in Hartlepool was committed to prison for an overall sentence of 12 weeks, suspended for 18 months and disqualified from driving for 12 months, after being caught behind the wheel under the influence of cocaine as well as being found in the possession of a wooden rolling pin. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services.

MRS NICOLA WALLINGER, 41 of Londonderry Road in Stockton was given community order after assaulting a police officer by coughing in his face and claiming to have Covid-19. The defendant pleaded guilty and was proved guilty in their absence and was made to pay £200 in compensation.

MR GLEN BENJAMINE BOOTH, 42 of Braemar Road in Billingham was given a community order after damaging property belonging to Half Moon Inn of unknown value and assaulting a man by beating him. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £250 in compensation.

MR MICHAEL JOHN TIMSON, 48 of Pine Street in Stockton was given fined £40 and given a community order after assaulting two police officers. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £95 to victim services and £40 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MR BARRY FREDRICK GRAHAM, 58 of Jubilee Road in Middlesbrough was fined £120 and disqualified from driving for 18 months after being caught behind the wheel whilst being disqualified from driving, driving without insurance, and taking the vehicle without consent and failing to surrender to Cleveland Magistrates Court. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £34 to victim services and £45 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MR KEVIN CRAIG MILLS, 39 of Brenston Road in Leicester was given a community order after stealing batteries belonging to Virgin Media to the value of £6,000. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £95 victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

JOSEPH SYKES, 65 of Sharpie Avenue in Coalville was given a community order after stealing batteries belonging to Virgin Media to the value of £6,000. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £95 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MR DAVID HUTCHINSON, 73 of Jute Grove was committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 12 months after assaulting a police constable. The defendant pleaded not guilty but was found guilty and was made to pay £50 in compensation and £720 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MR ELLIOT CRAWFORD, 26 of no fixed address was committed to prison for an overall sentence of 16 weeks after used threatening behaviour, assaulted a woman by beating her, assaulted another woman by beating her, trespassed into a property stealing some groceries and cash and failed to surrender to Cleveland Magistrates Court.

MISS KENDRA TRACEY MCCLEARY, 50 of Walton Court in Stockton was committed to prison for 26 weeks suspended for 24 months after assaulting a police officer by beating her, threatened and harassed another person which the court believed was racially aggravated. These offences were committed in respect of a previous community order for various crimes, one of which was assaulting a police constable. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £300 in compensation.

MR CRAIG STEPHAN DUCKLING, 36 of Southfield Road in Middlesbrough was given a community order after he used threatening or abusive words or behaviour, harassed someone, stole alcohol to the value of £9.50 from a One Stop shop and failed to surrender to Teesside Magistrates Court.

MR NEIL MARTIN, 52 of Crescent Road in Middlesbrough was committed to prison for 8 weeks suspended for 12 months after stealing three items of clothing to the value of £75 from New Look which was committed during a conditional discharge. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services.

MISS JOANNE MATTHEWS, 45 of Fakenham Avenue was given a community order after stealing clothes belonging to JD Sports to the value £200. The offence was committed during a suspended sentence which gave her a suspended sentence of 22 weeks suspended for 12 months.

MR MICHAEL THOMAS WRIGHT, 32 of Delamere Road in Middlesbrough was fined £233 after causing unlawful damage to a window belonging to The George and Dragon pub. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £150 in compensation, £34 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MR RICHARD DAVID BUNKER, 32 of Pennington Close in Stockton was given a £100 fine after assaulting a police officer by beating him. The defended pleaded guilty and was made to pay £50 In compensation, £34 to victim services and £300 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MR BRADLEY ALEXANDER GRIMES, 26 of Wicklow Street in Middlesbrough was committed to prison for 14 days after breaching a criminal behaviour order, was caught in possession of a class A drug and two cases of being seen begging for money from members of the public. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services.

MR JAMES WRIGHT, 46 of Chesterfield Drive in Middlesbrough was given a community order after damaging a car belonging to someone else, assaulting a police officer by beating him. The defendant pleaded guilty to both charges and was made to pay £75 in compensation.

MR BENJAMINE FARNABY, 27 of Repton Road in Middlesbrough was given a community order after damaging a car belonging to someone else, being caught in the possession of a crowbar and threatened violence towards someone. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £90 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MR JACK WILLIAMS, 2O of Rainham Close in Middlesbrough was given a community order and was disqualified from driving for 3 years after being caught in the possession of class B drugs, class C drugs, class A drugs, knowing that a vehicle was being taken without consent, being caught behind the wheel while being over the alcohol limit, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and took a vehicle without the consent of an owner. The defendant pleaded guilty to all charges and was made to pay £300 in compensation.

MR JOE DAVID WILLIS, 26 of Elkington Close in Stockton was committed to prison for 18 weeks suspended for 12 months and was disqualified from driving for 3 years, after driving under the influence of cocaine, driving without insurance, driving whilst being disqualified from driving and driving under the influence of cannabis. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MR LEWIS SKELTON, 23 of Ainthorpe Place in Middlesbrough was committed to prison for 26 weeks after, on separate occasions, stealing meat products to the value of £40 belonging to Iceland, stealing detergent and chocolate to the value of £30.99 belonging to lodge service station, stealing chocolate to the value of £31 from the same service station, stealing easter eggs and detergent to the value of £41.97 from the same service station, stealing coffee and detergent to the value of £67.70 from the same service station, stealing chocolate, drinks and detergent from the same service station to the value of £317, the same day stealing chocolate from the service station to the value of £19.50, stealing meat products from an Iceland store to the value of £60.00, stealing chocolate to the value of £25.00 from the service station and stealing meat products from an Iceland store to the value of £40.00. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £533.66 in compensation.

MR MARC GIBSON, 39 of Pacific Drive in Stockton was committed to prison for 18 weeks suspended for 12 months and was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £80 after driving a car while being disqualified from driving, driving without insurance, and obstructing a police constable. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £95 to victim services, £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MR KEVIN SAMUEL ROWBOTHAM, 35 of Cameron Road was committed to prison for 4 months after being caught carrying a blade and assaulting a detention officer by beating him. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services.

MR CRAIG STEWART THOMPSON, 41 of Letitia Street in Middlesbrough was discharged conditionally for 12 months after two cases of being found begging in public place. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £44 in victim services.

MR DONALD WALTER PEVERLEY, 37 of Grantham Avenue in Seaham was discharged conditionally for 18 months after damaging a vehicle to the value of £2,500 and assaulting a police constable and resisted a police constable. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £600 in compensation.
