A NORTH-EAST university has been named among the places where the fast-food chain, KFC wants to open a restaurant.
The chain has published its latest list of "target locations" with twelve parts of the North-East named.
Like a number of other major retailers, the fast food chain publishes a list of locations where they plan to set up shop next.

This list is regularly updated in line with demand and how popular the retailer believes one particular site could be.
But one stand-out area named is Durham University, which could see what KFC describes as an "Urban Small Box" built nearby.
Although the chain mainly names drive-thru type of stores as its preferred, a statement on its website says it will consider other options in "exceptional circumstances."
It said: "KFC's facility of choice is a Drive-Thru restaurant, although in exceptional circumstances we will consider other facility types, but this will depend on the local demographics, traffic flows, the size and location of the building."
According to KFC, the desired Durham University store would fit into a space of around 1,000 sq ft and join the chain's network of stores with the smallest footprint.
It said: "Our smallest footprint yet, the Smallbox asset offers the best of both worlds, fitting into 1,000 sq ft with a unique design while still offering customers a great experience. We look for units in high pedestrian area with a strong transient population."
