THE following cases were heard at Teesside Magistrates Court this week:

LISA WILLOWS, 41 of Kimblesworth Walk in Newton Aycliffe was committed to prison for an overall sentence of 26 weeks after stealing money to the value of £8,822.20 from Skinnergate Dental Practice. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £5,000 in compensation.

JAMES TEASDALE, 26 of Westborne Avenue in Gateshead, was fined £284 and disqualified from driving for 15 months after being caught behind the wheel under the influence of the THC drug, being caught in possession of cannabis, driving whilst being disqualified from holding a licence and driving without insurance. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £34 and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

CHRISTOPHER MARK CARLTON, 29 of Faygate Court, Hemlington, was given a community order after assaulting three police officers by beating them. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £275 in compensation.

DANIEL KAMEL, 32 of Hambleton Square in Billingham, was given a community order after assaulting a woman and assaulting a doctor by beating him. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £75 in compensation, £95 to victim services and £85 Crown Prosecution Service.

MICHAEL STEVEN LANCE, 35 of Broxa Close in Redcar was fined £360 and disqualified from driving for 36 months after being caught behind the wheel whilst under influence of cocaine, driving a car while not holding a licence to drive a vehicle of that class, and driving under the influence of the drug MDMA. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £36 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

LEE MICHAEL BAKER, 29 of Passfield Crescent in Middlesbrough was given a community after he threatened someone, damaged someone’s window and used violence to secure entry into a premise knowing that someone was home. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £95 to victims services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MICHAEL ANDREW WELLS, 36 of Harington Street in Stockton was committed to prison for an overall sentence of 42 weeks, suspended for 12 months after once case of stealing various items to the value of £55 belonging to BP Reliance Garage, and being in possession a quantity of cocaine; one case of stealing groceries to the value of £50 from Poundland, stealing washing tablets to the value of £10 from Poundland and another case of stealing grocery items to the value of £49.95 belonging to Tesco. These offences where committed in respect of a community order made for previous stealing offences. The defendant pleaded guilty to all charges.

JAMES CHRISTOPHER OWENS, 34 of High Street in Yarm was committed to prison for an overall sentence of 12 weeks after two cases of threatening someone and one case of, with an accomplice, stealing two hair straighteners to the value of £220 belonging to Boots. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

JIMMY JOHN MCPARTLAND 21, of Brompton Road in Middlesbrough was given a community order after assaulting three police officers. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £150 in compensation, £95 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecutions Service.

KENNETH ANTHONY READSHAW 27, of Eddison Way in Middlesbrough was committed to prison for an overall sentence of 12 weeks after he intimidated and harassed a woman which he was prohibited from doing so and had in his possession a Stanley knife. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services and £620 to Crown Prosecution Service.

DANIEL PHILIP CLARK 30, of Hartington Road in Stockton was given a community order after he assaulted an A&E consultant whilst being subject to a conditional discharge. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £250 in compensation and £40 to Crown Prosecution Service.

CALLUM DAVID THURSTON, 26 of Diamond Street in Saltburn was fined £200 after he damaged a car belonging to someone else to the value of £320, was found to be drunk and disorderly and assaulted two police constable. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £320 in compensation.

DANIEL GREY, 36 of Murphy Court in Middlesbrough was committed to prison for an overall 8 weeks suspended for 12 months after one case of stealing various items to the value of £180.55 belonging to B&M, assaulting a man and one case of stealing goods to the value £230 belonging to B&M stores. The original offence was in respect of a community order. The defendant pleaded guilty.

TONI LEIGH WALKER, 30 of Dudley Road in Billingham was given a community order after she was caught in possession of cannabis, found to be drunk and disorderly and assaulted police officers. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £200 in compensation.

REECE PEACOCK, 20 of Norton Road in Stockton was fined £1,800 after failing to supply a specimen of blood for a laboratory test. The defendant was found guilty and was made to pay £180 to victim services and £620 to Crown Prosecution Service.

JENNIFER SCUFFHAM, 51 of Oxford Street in Saltburn was given a community order after stealing £2,000. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £95 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

KATRINA YVONNE BROWN, 28 of Harlow Crescent in Stockton was given a community order after they stole clothing to the value of £200, three LOL dolls to the value of £97.91 and two LOL products and one barbie horse and carriage to the value of £97.91. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £395.82 in compensation.

GARETH LAWRENCE, 40 of Frisby Court in Middlesbrough was discharged for 18 months after being in possession of a firearm, namely an air rifle without holding a licence. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £22 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

JANIE LOUISE WYNN, 31 of Hartington Road in Stockton was committed prison for an overall sentence of 16 weeks after stealing two Xbox controllers, one Xbox head set to the value of £70 from B&M in Stockton and stealing confectionary to the value of £16.00 from Poundland. These offences were committed during a suspended sentence. The defendant pleaded guilty and was £128 victim services.
