DARLINGTON families were handed over 40 laptops thanks to a £8,000 contribution from a local authority and the government.
Darlington Borough Council and the Department of Education gave families 45 laptops to parents at Skerne Park Academy this week thanks to their joint contribution.
Councillor Kevin Nicholson was joined by Jamie Dillon, assistant head at Skerne Park Academy, housing team leader Becci Gardner-Queen and housing management officer Rachel Foster to hand the laptops over.
Councillor Kevin Nicholson said: "I'm delighted that we have been able to support families in this way, our housing teams work tirelessly to support our communities.
"I know how much these laptops will help to support young people and their families at this challenging time."
Kate Chisholm, headteacher at Skerne Park Academy, said: "Having this amazing donation from the Council housing team has transformed our school’s ability to provide online learning for our children."
