A NEW exhibition celebrating the vital role played by railway workers during the Covid-19 pandemic has been launched.
Named Railway Heroes, the exhibition recognises the work of 16 people from across the rail industry who have played an essential part in the country’s Covid-19 response.
It showcases acts of exceptional dedication from rail workers such as Jolene Miller from Stockton who divided her time during the first lockdown between driving Northern trains and volunteering as a paramedic
The exhibition will feature 16 portrait photographs from renowned photographer Charlotte Graham.
The first six ‘Railway Heroes’ starred in a special online exhibition hosted on the National Railway Museum website from Monday, with new profiles added each week.
Once lockdown restrictions are lifted, a physical exhibition will open simultaneously at York's National Railway Museum and Locomotion in Shildon.
