THE following cases were heard at Peterlee and Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Courts in the last week.

MANDY SARAH LOUISE HETHERINGTON, 30, of no fixed address, was handed a community order requiring her to undergo rehabilitation after she was caught driving on September 18, of last year, whilst disqualified from driving. She pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £95 to fund victim services.

SCOTT MICHAEL WALE pleaded guilty to destroying an iPhone 7 with intent on June 20, 2020. The 33-year-old was made to pay £200 compensation and £620 to the Crown Prosecution Service. On the same date he assaulted a woman by beating her and was given a community and restraining order. The Victoria Street, Dunston resident, pleaded guilty.

KEEGAN STEPHENSON, 20, was given a 12-week prison sentence after he assaulted a prison officer. Stephenson, who is at HM Prison Deerbolt, Barnard Castle, indicated a plea of guilt and was made to pay £150 compensation.

JACOB JOHN GEORGE WILSON entered Sainsbury’s on October 31, 2020, at a trespasser and stole £200 cash. The Park Lane, Darlington resident, indicated a plea of guilt and was fined £133. Wilson, 35, was also ordered to pay £200 compensation and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

JORDAN LOUISE KIDD, of Chadwell Close, Ushaw Moor, was banned from driving for 12 months after she drove whilst over the legal drink drive limit on December 26, 2020. The 28-year-old pleaded guilty and was fined £200. She was also ordered to pay £34 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

JONATHON STANLEY ARMSTRONG, 26, was given an eight-week prison sentence after he threatened to damage the windows of Bishop Auckland Police Station on February 8, of this year. Armstrong, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to fund victim services.

ADAM YOUNG-BEDELL, 33, of Station Road, Easington Colliery, acted in a way with intent to cause harassment, alarm of distress to a person on February 7, of this year. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £50 compensation and was handed a community order by magistrates.

SLAWOMIR DYGASIEWICZ, of Goldcrest Avenue, Bradford, West Yorkshire, was fined £150 after he was spotted driving a heavy goods vehicle on September 25, 2019, without due care of attention. The 43-year-old was given four penalty driving points and made to pay £34 to fund victim services. DYGASIEWICZ was also ordered to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

PAUL LONGTHORNE was fined £80 for possessing a class C drug. He was caught with 54 tablets of pregabalin – a drug to treat epilepsy – on September 3, 2020, at Crook. The Wood Street, Spennymoor resident, indicated a plea of guilt and was made to pay £34 to fund victim services. Longthorne, 46, was also ordered to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

TONY RICHARD DEEHAN, 41, was discharged conditionally for six months after he stole a bottle of alcohol on September 26, from Morrison’s Supermarket. The Galgate, Barnard Castle resident, pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a £22 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

ROBERT WEEKS, 39, of Waskely Grove, Bishop Auckland, was given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months after he assaulted an emergency service on December 14, 2020. He indicated a plea of guilt and was ordered to pay £100 compensation and a £128 victim surcharge.

HARRY NEIL WADE, of Front Street, Quebec, County Durham, pleaded guilty to driving whilst over the legal drink drive limit on November 21, of last year. The 18-year-old was banned for driving for 12 months and fined £161. Wade, was also ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

OLIVER KINGSLEY, 55, of Hargreave Terrace, Darlington, was discharged conditionally for 12 months after he assaulted a police officer on October 31, 2020. Kingsley was also made to pay £100 compensation. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
