A DJ and football club match day announcer has 'vehemently' denied child sex charges.
Mark Page appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court charged with four offences including sexual activity with a child and facilitating child sexual exploitation.
Today his solicitor has issued a statement saying the former Radio 1 DJ and Middlesbrough FC match day announcer would 'vigorously' defend the allegations, which date back to 2016.
Henri Brandman said: "Mr Page vehemently denies the alleged offences and will vigorously defend himself against the charges.
"He has had business, military and charitable interests in the Philippines for a number of years."
Page set up and run forces station radio Garrison FM, which had a base at Catterick, in 2001 and worked as a presenter until 2013.
The charges include two of attempt to cause or incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity and a further two of arrange or facilitate the sexual exploitation of a child aged 13 - 17 years - one in connection with the Philippines.
The 62-year-old, of Rowallane Gardens, Ingleby Barwick, was granted bail until his next appearance at Teesside Crown Court next month.
