SOME of the best places to live in and around Darlington according to our readers has been revealed - with one clear winner.

Last week, we asked The Northern Echo's readers to vote in our poll for where they believed was the best ward in the town.

We broke the town into five main areas, listing some of the key wards in each part - of which saw more than 1,300 of you choose your best.

And here's what you choose (and remember, it is only for fun!)

Out of the areas, readers named Hummersknott, Cockerton, College and Park West, among the best places to live in the town.

A huge 41 per cent of the total vote - 538 people - cast their vote on those areas, crowning those areas the best to live.

This was followed by Harrowgate Hill, Whinfield and Haughton, which attracted 20 per cent of the vote - made up from 263 votes.

Hurworth and Middleton St George came third with 15 per cent of the vote - made up from 202 people.

Faverdale, Heighington and Sadberge followed with 13 per cent of the share - made up from 171 people.

While Albert Hill, Red Hall, Firthmoor and Central Darlington scored 10 per cent - with 132 of the votes accounting for those areas.
