STANDING water is affecting roads in the region.
Journeys on the A19 have been affected by flooding, with parts of the road closed.
The northbound exit slip road is closed at the A690 Durham Road, at the Herrington Interchange near Sunderland.

The slip road is expected to be closed until the flooding is clear.

Police and maintenance crews from Highways England are on the scene.
The road is also reported to be blocked from the A1018 at Seaham Grange roundabout to the A690 Durham Road.
There have been reports of flooding elsewhere in the region and motorists are being advised to take care.
Northumbria Police said the A19 is also closed northbound at the junction of the A1018 Seaton.

There are two weather warnings from the Met Office in place for the North-East.
The A177 Durham Road, near Stockton, is also blocked both ways due to flooding from the Stillington turn-off at Thorpe Larches to Durham Road, Thorpe Thewles.
A yellow rain warning is in place until 12pm on Thursday while a snow warning is in place for County Durham and Northumberland until midnight on Thursday.
