A PROPERTY development company has appointed a new technical director – a former graduate who worked his way up the company.

Barratt Developments North East, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, has appointed Stephen Wooldridge as its technical director.

Having joined the firm in 2007 through the firm's graduate scheme, Mr Wooldridge has worked across multiple operational divisions while working his way up the career ladder.

He will focus on building the company's portfolio, with success in the land market, timely site starts and work on legacy and adoptions.

Mr Wooldridge said: “Since joining Barratt Developments at the start of my career, I’ve been fortunate that progression opportunities have evolved within the company, now leading me to be join the North-East division.

"Despite the effects of Covid-19, demand remains high and the business is in a strong position, which makes it a really exciting time to join the team.

"I’m very lucky to be surrounded by my supportive family and friends, and I know that my children are excited to relocate to the coast.”

Barratt Group was recently awarded a maximum five-star rating for the 11th consecutive year in the 2020 Home Builders Federation Customer Satisfaction Survey.

The accolade means that more than 90 per cent of its customers say they would recommend its homes to a friend.
