THERE has been an additional 804 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the last 24-hours in the North East and North Yorkshire.
Government statistics said there has been a further 18,607 cases in the last 24-hours in the UK.
This is the lowest reported daily total of new cases since December 15, when 18,450 cases were recorded.
This brings the total to 3,835,783 positive coronavirus cases tested up to today.
There were 406 further deaths in the UK in the last 24-hours, bringing the total to 106,564 of dying within 28-days having a positive test.
Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 123,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.
