CELEBRATIONS have been in full swing at a Northallerton care home, as one of its residents passed beyond her centenary in style.

Marian Macey was joined by staff and other residents Mount Vale Care Home as she celebrated her 101st birthday.

A party was held at the home and residents enjoyed a special birthday cake made by Mount Vale’s chef, Moira Fleming.

Relatives were unable to attend these celebrations in a traditional sense due to current visiting restrictions, but sent her some beautiful flowers for her to enjoy and photos were sent back to the family of Marian enjoying herself.

Helen Lewis, general manager of Barchester Mount Vale said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating a truly remarkable woman as she reaches this amazing milestone. When we celebrated her 100th birthday last year with her family present, we did not know what 2020 would bring for any of us.

"Marian remains cheerful as ever and looks as well as she did 12-months-ago."
