THE following cases were heard at Peterlee and Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Courts in the last week.

THOMAS DONNELLY, of Coldwell Lane, Gateshead, was handed a community order after he visited an address in County Durham on January 16, 2021, in breach of a non molestation order. The 20-year-old indicated a plea of guilt and was given a restraining order. Donnelly was also made to pay £95 to fund victim services.

ALAN SIMON BRITON, 52, was fined £500 and given six penalty driving points after he drove a Ford transit in Stanley, on September 25 of last year, despite being banned from driving. The Athol Road, Sunderland resident, pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a £50 victim surcharge. There was also no valid policy of insurance in place but no separate penalty was given.

RYAN JAMES YOUNG stole £3,663.35 from Consett Candies Football Club, between September 2018 and and August 2019. The 22-year-old was given a community order and made to pay £3,663.35 compensation. Young, of Derwent Close, Stanley, indicated a plea of guilt.

STACEY MARGERIE ALDWORTH, 32, was discharged conditionally for 18 months after she stole cleaning products from Home Bargains, in Bishop Auckland, on September 23 of last year. Aldworth, of Bouch Street, in Shildon, pleaded guilty and was discharged conditionally for 18 months. She was also made to pay £17.34 compensation and £22 to fund victim services.

WILLIAM ROBERT BALLATYNE, 48, of Allan’s Grange, Piercebridge, beat a police officer on August 26, 2020. He was fined £50 and made to pay £25 compensation.

JANET HINDLE, 60, was handed a restraining order after he breached an order by visiting an address in County Durham on December 4, 2019. The Colling Walk, Newton Aycliffe resident, was fined £120, made to pay £32 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

KRISTIAN OSBALDESTIN  37, of Moor Crescent, Gilesgate, was discharged conditionally for six months after being caught in possession of subutex – a drug licensed for the treatment of heroin addiction. He indicated a plea of guilt and was ordered to pay £22 to fund victim services and £40 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

ANTHONY ARMSTRONG was caught in possession of diamorphine, on September 22 of last year. The 39-year-old indicated a plea of guilt and was ordered to pay a £150 fine. Armstrong of Colville Court, Stanley, was also made to pay £34 to fund victim services. The drugs were confiscated by police officers.

ANDREW CRAIG DOOLEY, of Anfield Court, Darlington, was fined £100 after he was caught in possession of a class B drug on August 18 of last year. The 32-year-old was also made to pay £34 to fund victim services.

GEMMA WHITE, 29, of no fixed address, stole £253.02 of electricity on April 29 of last year. She indicated a plea of guilt and was discharged conditionally for 12 months. White was also ordered to pay £20 compensation.

DAON YRUS KEHI, 28, was caught in possession of cocaine on June 8, 2019. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months. The Ellery Walk, Hartlepool resident, was also made to pay £22 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

GRAHAM SEAN MOSES, of Selby Crescent, Darlington, sent a grossly offensive, indecent or menacing text message on June 22, of last year. The 22-year-old was given a restraining order by the court banning him from contacting the victim. He will also now be made to undergo rehabilitation. Moses, who pleaded guilty was fined £200, was made to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

KEIRON WINN, 27, of Raby Terrace, Chilton, was given a 20-week prison sentence after he assaulted a woman by beating her on January 11, 2020. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £128.

KEITH DIXON, 27, was handed a community order for carrying a retractable police style baton in Horden on December 15, 2020. The Inchcape Terrace, Peterlee resident,  was made to pay £95 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service

ANDREW WAYNE WELLER beat a woman on July 31, of last year. The MacMillan Road, Newton Aycliffe resident, was given a community order and made to pay £50 compensation. Weller, 56, was also ordered to pay £95 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

CRAIG MARK WARD, 35, of Parkgate, Darlington, assaulted a woman by beating her between November 20, and November 30 of last year. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a £40 fine and £150 compensation. Ward was also made to pay £85 court costs.

AIDAN SHIELD, 18, of Langdale Avenue, Crook, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly on July 24, 2020. He was handed a community order and made to pay £95 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

CONNER DODDS, 20, who is serving time at HMP Durham, was sentenced to 21 days in detention after he stole a vehicle on December 11, 2019. He was ordered to pay £1,000 compensation. Dodds was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months after he hit a lamppost while driving the stolen vehicle. He pleaded guilty to the offences.
