A PHARMACY is set to become one of the first in the region to offer the Covid-19 vaccinations as the scheme continues to expand across the country.
Acklam Road Pharmacy, in Middlesbrough, will be one of the first pharmacies to distribute the vaccine, with its schedule due to start on January 21.
Managing director Suhaib Abdullah, said: “We wanted to do all we could, to help the NHS in their efforts to roll out the vaccine.
“We are ecstatic to be able to offer our premises as a vaccination centre from Thursday, January 21.”
He added: “We have been commissioned to roll out a vast scale of vaccinations and we are prepared to distribute up to 10,000 vaccinations per week, should the NHS require this capacity.
“With qualified personnel and our Covid-19 trained support staff on hand to help us roll-out the vaccination programme, we can see a real light at the end of the tunnel.”
Anyone who has received an NHS referral letter and lives in the Cleveland area can book a vaccination at the pharmacy.
