A FUNDRAISER is preparing for a tough challenge this summer, as he prepares to raise money for a cause close to his heart.

On June 23 Connor Peebles from Gateshead is taking on The National 3 Peaks Challenge in aid of Multiple Sclerosis-UK.

Considered one of Britain’s toughest outdoor challenges, The National 3 Peaks Challenge takes in the dizzy heights of Scotland's Ben Nevis (1,344m), England's Scafell Pike (978m) and Wales' Snowdon (1,085m).

Over the course of 24 hours, he will trek around 26 miles and ascend to a total height of almost 3,000m.

Mr Peebles said: “I continue to give myself these challenges that are tough mentally and physically as my beautiful sister was diagnosed with MS at an early age of just 14. This had a tremendous impact on her and my family.

“It turned our world upside down.

“She battles on a day-to-day basis with her pain, but continues to keep a beautiful smile on her face."

“A true inspiration to me as well as others."

“So, I wanted do something for charity and help empower people with MS to live their best life."

So far Mr Peebles has raised money for MS to, find a cure and help the families of the affected in the local area to have respite by providing trips away and much more.

Mr Peebles will be joined by his brother in law Edward Frank who has helped support the family through tough times.

Currently Mr Peebles has raised £1010 with a target of £2000.
