POLICE confirm a 'suspicious package' left near toTeesside Crown Court turned out to have been left in good faith.
An area close to the Middlesbrough town centre building was cordoned off this morning as a precaution while investigations were carried out.
Armed officers attended the scene at around 10.15am but quickly established that the package was not dangerous.
A Clevleand Police spokesperson said: "Police were alerted to a suspicious package in Centre Square near to Teesside Combined Court around 10.15am on Tuesday.
"Following inquiries, officers were able to quickly determine that the package was not suspicious and had been left there in good faith."
