A TRUCK overturned on the A68 near Darlington in the early hours of this morning.
The HGV was involved in the accident on the southbound carriageway, at about 4.30am.
The road was closed from the A1(M) J58 (Burtree) to Rotary Way, along with the A1(M) southbound exit slip road.
Police warned that it would take some time to recover the vehicle.
Earlier this morning, a spokesperson for Durham police said: "Junction 58 Burtree flyover junction with the A68 heading into Darlington is closed due to an overturned HGV.
"This is impacting on traffic trying to exit the A1M southbound at J58 and also traffic on the A68 heading into Darlington.
"The road will be closed for sometime until the vehicle can be recovered."
