A MOTORIST has been jailed for failing to give police a blood specimen for analysis when he was caught driving after taking drugs.
Jake Allison was pulled over on September 16 last year and again less than four weeks later on October 10.
On both occasions he refused to give officers a specimen of blood.
The 25-year-old, of Saltersgill Close, Middlesbrough, had already been made subject to a suspended sentence in August, Teesside Crown Court heard.
Allison pleaded guilty to two charges of failing to provide a specimen, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and possession of cannabis.
Judge Recorder John Aitken jailed Allison for a total of six months after activating part of his suspended sentence.
He was also banned from driving for two years.
