A WOMAN has sadly died following a car crash in Guisborough yesterday evening.
The incident happened around 4.40pm at the junction of The Avenue and Stokesley Road in Guisborough, when a Peugeot 307 left the road and crashed into a tree.
The male driver and female passenger, both aged in their eighties, were taken to James Cook University Hospital with multiple injuries, but the woman sadly later died.
A police spokesman said: "The woman’s family have been informed and our thoughts remain with them at this extremely difficult time.
"Officers from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit are conducting enquiries in relation to the incident, and would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or may have any dash cam footage which could assist their investigation."
