A CHRISTMAS market has been so successful organisers want to bring it back monthly.
The Lanchester Christmas Market took place on December 20 with 3,000 people turning up over the course of the day.
The market was designed to be Covid secure, with increased security, hand sanitizer at the entrance and exits as well as every stall. A one-way system was also in place to ensure people have minimal contact with others.
The event took place in the car park of the Kings Head, Lanchester.
Organiser Tris Raine said: “Lanchester was so busy and a lot of people came on the day, the shops in the village brought in extra staff.
“The owner of the pub kindly lent us his car park for the market, and we were very grateful for it.”
The market was so successful organisers are turning it into a monthly market.
The next market is set to be on Sunday February 28 and 1,000 tickets have already been sold.
Mr Raine added: “This could be the biggest market in the North East but it has to be planned out well.
“All the original stalls we had at the Christmas Market have rebooked and we are now fully booked for vendors.
“We will be offering free masks and sanitizer to everyone."
The tickets are free from wescantickets.com
