A TEENAGER who twice drove a car at his father during a drunken confrontation will have to wait until the New Year to learn his fate.

Keaton Morrison reacted angrily when he turned up at his father's home drunk with two friends before riding off on his father's bike.

The teenager then jumped into a Ford focus and drove it straight at his father before turning it around and driving straight toward him again, causing his father to seek sanctuary in a neighbour's garden.

Police later arrested Morrison when they spotted the car in Hemlington and the defendant refused to take a breathalyser test.

Anthony Pettengell, prosecuting, told Teesside Crown Court that Morrison had also harassed his mother on three separate occasions in the days leading up to his arrest.

He told the court how Morrison picked up a concrete block threatening to smash a window and on the other visits in October this year, he threw a garden chair and a wheelie bin at the house.

The 19-year-old, of Selbourne Street, Middlesbrough, pleaded guilty to affray, harassment, failing to provide a specimen, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

Vicki Lamballe, in mitigation, said Morrison had endured a difficult upbringing including witnessing domestic violence as well as drug and alcohol abuse.

Judge Recorder Andrew Sutcliffe QC adjourned the case until January 19 to enable the probation service to help the defendant secure accommodation.
