ABLE UK has announced its latest senior managerial appointment as it continues to expand its business in offshore wind sectors.

Alan Lloyd is the new General Manager at the group’s Able Seaton Port facility. He has spent over ten years as Operations Director with Heerema Fabrication Group and was previously General Manager at the design engineering consultancy, the Cordell Group.

Mr Lloyd, who is from Hartlepool, was educated at the town’s Grammar school and College of Further Education and has had a long involvement with both West Hartlepool and Hartlepool Rovers Rugby Clubs.

His appointment was welcomed by Able UK Executive Chairman Peter Stephenson.

He said: “Alan will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the continuing development of Able Seaton Port. Our businesses continue to grow, and this trend is set to continue. We have a strong five-year order book, and our employment numbers are set to significantly increase across a range of different skills and levels. Able Seaton Port is playing a central role as a market leading installation base for the growing number of east coast offshore wind farms as well as undertaking major contracts for the decommissioning and recycling of redundant oil and gas structures."
