VISITORS to a North Yorkshire theme park will be treated to a dazzling magic lantern display this Christmas.

Lightwater Valley, near Ripon, will be home to Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Humpty Dumpty and many more of those Lewis Carroll’s childhood characters we all know and love.

The immersive Christmas lights trail includes a a life-size chessboard with an Alice pawn, the iconic Mad Hatter’s tea party and numerous ways for the family to get involved throughout the experience.

The giant illuminated light sculptures illustrate stories from Alice in Wonderland and Alice through the Looking Glass.

Visitors can watch the Mad Hatter prepare for his crazy tea party, marvel at a four-metre tall Alice lantern and come face to face with the infamous Queen of Hearts herself.

Other Christmas attractions at the park, which has made several adjustments to comply with Covid safety protocols, include a festive fairground, an elf hunt, a magical workshop of wonders and a Christmas magic puppet show.
