A PETROL bomb was thrown at the front window of a property in Middlesbrough and police are appealing for witnesses.

Officers are investigating the arson which happened around 8.10am on Thornton Street in North Ormesby on Friday morning.

The suspect who reportedly threw the petrol bomb at the building is believed to have been wearing dark clothing.

Fortunately, neither of the occupants who were in the property at the time were injured.

Any witnesses or anyone with private CCTV footage which could assist the investigation is asked to contact Detective Constable John Smith from Middlesbrough CID on the non-emergency number 101.
