ROCKLIFFE Hall staff are completing a series of good deeds and offering giveaways as part of a ‘Twelve Days of Giving’ initiative.

From the Orangery team providing a festive afternoon tea for Darlington Memorial Hospital keyworkers, to the golf team litter picking along the River Tees and in the local village, staff are pulling out all the stops to spread some Christmas cheer.

Speaking about the initiative, Jason Adams, managing director said: “We work in an industry that is being decimated by Covid so it is vital that we do everything we can to help those in our local community.

"Thousands of people will struggle this Christmas and we will continue doing all we can to give back where we can.”

The initiative was kick-started in October when Rockliffe Hall donated 20 packed lunches each day to their local food bank, Kings Church Darlington, after MPs voted down the campaign to extend free school meals over the holidays.

And throughout December, Rockliffe Hall will be supporting as many local community causes as they can, through the initiative.

Among the good deeds being carried out is the resort's estates team planting more trees around the grounds to support the wildlife and the environment.

Rockliffe's chefs are getting involved by having a big festive bake-off, with each making a Christmas cake to donate to local care home.

The housekeeping team are donating hundreds of toiletries to Darlington Memorial hospital, while the maintenance team are all volunteering in a local soup kitchen to help feed those in need.

Four-legged friends are not being forgotten either, with old duvets and pillows being donated to the Dogs Trust.
