A MAN has appeared at court following an incident involving a Samurai sword.
Edward Arthur Mould, 36, is accused of wounding a woman in Bishop Auckland with the weapon.
The incident is alleged to have taken place between 9pm on Friday, November 20 and 4am on Saturday, November 21.
Mr Mould, of Wood Street, Spennymoor, entered no plea to a charge of wounding with intent at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
He also faced charges of assault by beating of an emergency worker on November 24 and criminal damage at Durham City Police Station on the same date.
Mr Mould, who was represented in court by Stephen Andrews, was remanded into police custody and will appear at Durham Crown Court on Tuesday, December 22.
