AN UNLICENSED driver has had their car seized from Chorley Old Road for illegally tinted windows.

A traffic patrol stopped the Volkswagen Golf GTI earlier today to examine the windows.

The windows let through less than 30 per cent light, far below the legal limit of 70 per cent for front windows.

According the the DVLA, the windscreen must let through 75 per cent of light to be legal.

The driver faced some larger issues when police were unable to find a valid licence.

Officers said: "Just stopped this Volkswagen Golf GTI on Chorley Old Road.

"The front tints were found to let through less than 30 per cent light.

"Least of the issues for the driver who didn't even have a licence!"

The driver has been reported for all offences, and the car has been seized.
