A BRADFORD man is celebrating after winning a national eSports competition for McDonald’s employees.

Bradley Raistrick, 19, of Allerton, was crowned the winner of the Xbox One McDonald’s eCup winner.

He had to win eight matches on the Xbox version of FIFA 20 to be crowned the winner. This feat included winning the quarter, semi and final, all played last night.

He beat a McDonald’s employee representing Wolverhampton Wanderers 5-4 in an exciting final to lift the title.

These last three matches on the one night followed Bradley winning five matches in the tournament’s Swiss bracket. This was a concept where players faced others who had won the same amount of matches as they had at each stage of the event.

A total of 130 McDonald’s employees took part in the tournament, each playing at home due to the lockdown.

Bradley, who works as a crew member at the McDonald’s branch on Ingelby Road, Bradford, played as Liverpool throughout the tournament, the team he supports.

He also scooped a host of prizes for winning the first-ever tournament including a signed England football shirt, JD Sports vouchers and a copy of the FIFA 21 game.

Bradley said: “It’s great, I’m in shock. I really didn’t expect to win it.

“It was crazy, I was very, very nervous for the final.

“I would love to look in to playing for a eSports team.”
