THE NUMBER of new coronavirus cases across Bolton is still rising in seven of the borough’s neighbourhoods.
New figures revealed that the number of cases reported across Bolton had fallen between November 11 and 17.
The week before, the first week of lockdown, also recorded a drop, with 1,313 new infections between November 4 and 11.
Despite the promising trend, a number of areas are still struggling to stamp out rising infection rates.
Lever Edge reported the most infections, with 62 new cases – up from 50.
Little Lever was close behind, with 53 new cases, up from 39.
Highfield and New Bury, Farnworth South, and Horwich East also saw a rise in newly reported cases, with 40, 34, and 31 new infections respectively.
Westhoughton Daisy Hill, and Breightmet North were the final two areas to see a rise, with 29 and 27 new infections.
Heaton and Deane saw no change in infections, reporting 41 new cases for the third week in a row.
The data has been extracted from a map, which uses figures from Public Health England to detail each confirmed case of coronavirus by Middle Super Output Area, sections of around 7,200 people.
All 35 of Bolton’s neighbourhoods have now reported three or more infections of the virus every week for almost two months.
