A MAN has been arrested for drugs offences after 24 bags of cannabis were found in a North Ormesby home.

Police visited the property on Jubilee Street on Monday morning after members of the public reported concerns regarding drugs activity at the address.

Upon finding the two dozen bags of drugs, a 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

He remains in police custody as police continue their investigations.

Cleveland Police Neighbourhood Sergeant John Sproson said: “I would urge the local community to continue to contact us with any information that they may have regarding drugs activity as this enables us to take enforcement action and remove drugs from potentially ending up on the streets of Middlesbrough.

“We will now work together with the owner of the property and partners in the local authority to address these issues going forward.”

Anyone with information regarding drugs activity in their local area can contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.
