FAMOUS for their reasonably priced grub - and eccentric loos, seven Wetherspoon pubs have come top of the plops when it comes to their toilets.

Pubs across County Durham, Darlington and Teesside have scored big in the national Loo of the Year Awards 2020.

The Bishop's Mill and Water House in Durham, Grand Electric Hall in Spennymoor and Company Row in Consett were crowned winners in County Durham.

Meanwhile, The William Stead and The Tanners Hall in Darlington and Ironstone Miner in Guisborough were named winners in the Tees Valley.

The awards are aimed at highlighting and improving standards of 'away from home' toilet facilities across the UK.
