CLEVELAND has some of the highest theft and burglary rates in the UK, according to research from regulated property buyers, Good Move, and ONS.
Cleveland ranked second in the UK for theft and third for burglaries.
Good Move looked at theft and burglary rates from across the UK.
Having collated the data, the areas with the highest theft offences (rate per 1,000 people), are: London (51), Cleveland (41), West Yorkshire (39), South Yorkshire (38), Humberside (35).
At the other end of the scale, the areas with the lowest theft offences, (rate per 1,000 people), are: Dyfed-Powys (15), Devon and Cornwall (15), Cumbria (18), Norfolk (19), North Yorkshire (20).
Burglary rates, the areas with the highest burglary offences (rate per 1,000 people), are: South Yorkshire (10), West Yorkshire (9), Cleveland (9), London (9), Humberside (9).
While the areas with the lowest burglary offences, (rate per 1,000 people), are: Devon and Cornwall (3), Dyfed-Powys (3), Norfolk (4), Wiltshire (4), Staffordshire (4).
London, Cleveland, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and Humberside were the five regions that both marked the highest for the amount of theft and burglaries in the UK.
Cumbria and North Yorkshire have the lowest theft rates in the UK.
Data regarding crime rates were sourced via ONS. These factors were then analysed and ranked by Good Move.
