FRIENDS and colleagues of a much-loved project manager who died in a bicycle accident have completed charity walks in his memory.
Graham Pattison 49, from Hartlepool, sadly died in a crash when he was cycling on the A689 eastbound near Sedgefield in July.
He worked for the IRIS Software Group and was a keen outdoor enthusiast well-known for trekking mountains and exploring trails around Yorkshire and the Lakes.
Just before the announcement of the second lockdown, 70 IRIS employees were due to get together and hike up Roseberry Topping and Captain Cook's Monument in his memory.
But due to Covid restrictions, employees instead trekked in spirit of the event in their own local areas to raise thousands for charities chosen by Graham’s family including Brake and The Great North Air Ambulance Service.

Anna Stephens, senior technical author at IRIS Software Group who has raised over £3,200 on her own, said: “Graham was funny, caring, and hardworking and was liked by everyone.
"When I heard the tragic news, I really wanted to do something in his memory.
"So, I started to share his story on social media and get in touch with people across my network.
"Thank you to everyone who has donated - the funds will be of great benefit to both charities.
“It is unfortunate that we've had to postpone the Pattison Hike, but I look forward to seeing everyone and properly celebrating Graham's life once things are back to normal.”

Chris Malcom, development manager at IRIS Software Group, added: “Graham was key to the success of many customer projects that gives IRIS a leading edge.
“Graham was also a stalwart of the Stockton office, supporting local office events and our vibrant social community.
"He was a loyal Liverpool supporter and was never short of questions for a football trivia quiz – daily!
“A dear friend and colleague for many of us, Graham had a warehouse-sized stock of humour at the ready to lighten our day and spread laughter on any occasion – Dad jokes were abound!
"He was approachable, authentic, always cheery and took a genuine interest in people.
"He was known for supporting our teams throughout their good and challenging times; he always listened; qualities of a true leader.”
Victoria Pattison, Graham’s wife said: “Graham spent many happy hours climbing Roseberry Topping over the years, and I know he will be walking along beside all of his amazing colleagues and friends in spirit.
"It’s been lovely to hear so many wonderful stories from everyone he worked with and it’s a real comfort to us to know how loved he was by his IRIS family.
"We’re so proud of the lasting impression Graham has made and the impact he continues to make - with money being raised in his name for two worthy causes.”
The fundraisers made up of colleagues from across the country, have been wearing t-shirts with logos of Brake, The Great North Air Ambulance and IRIS.
