A MAN'S body has been found at an address in Gateshead.
A large number of emergency services are at the scene in Newman Place.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 11.30am on Monday we were alerted to a concern for the welfare of a man at an address on Newman Place, Gateshead.
“Emergency services attended and found a man deceased inside the property.
Inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.”
There was a large police presence as officer cordoned off the street.
Forensic officers wearing blue and white boiler suits were on the scene and were carrying out examinations inside a property.
A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: "Police requested our support at an incident at a private address in Gateshead. The matter is being dealt with by the police and we are unable to provide any more information."
