A LOOSE pony has been caught near to a motorway services and police are appealing for its owner to contact them.
Earlier today North Yorkshire Police received a report of the loose animal near Leeming Bar Services off the A1 near Bedale.
Members of the public helped the officers to round the pony and it is now safe and being cared for.
Police say that it is a small young pony and a spokesman said: "If you are the owner of this horse or know the owner, please contact 101 with details, description and documents quoting reference number 12200200762."
