TWO dogs have been safely rescued after falling down a hole created by old mine workings.
Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team had to be called to rescue the dogs after they fell in the hole and got stuck in the woods about Hutton village, near Guisborough just after 11am yesterday.
Seven volunteers from the mountain rescue team came to the aid of the husky and springador dogs.
A team member accessed the hole wearing a body harness, connected to a rope system and was able to pull out first the husky shortly before 1pm. The springador was rescued a few moments later.
Both dogs were unharmed and were reunited with their grateful ownerrs.
The whole incident took about two hours.
