AGE is just a number when it comes to the older generation on Instagram, at least it's a less important one than the four-figures they could be earning as influencers.

Pauline and Geoffrey Walker, who are both in their 60s, rose to fame when a video appealing for help after Mrs Walker's purse was stolen went viral.

The married couple made their Instagram account, @geoffreywalk, back in 2016 to stay in touch with family who had moved away.

But today their videos on days out, recipes and everyday life are seen by 361,000 followers from around the world.

Research by a comparison site, which looked at followers and engagement, estimate the Leicestershire couple could potentially earn £1,108 per sponsored Instagram post.

Commenting on one video where Mrs Walker was having her hair cut, someone wrote: "Get all the pampering you can Pauline you so deserve it. Happy Friday To the sweetest couple."

Others just posted love heart emojis.

Helen Ruth Elam (@baddiewinkle) has the highest earning potential as a granfluencer on Instagram, according to report. The daring 92-year-old with 3.7 million followers could bank a £7,524 per sponsored Instagram post.
