POLICE are trying to trace two people in connection with the theft of three bank cards from an elderly woman.

North Yorkshire Police are investigating the theft from Summerbridge, which led to fraudulent activity. 

It happened at Hartwith Bank in Summerbridge at approximately 4.30pm and 5pm on Wednesday, October 14, when a man and a woman claiming to be from a disability service tricked their way into an elderly woman’s house, a police spokesperson said.

Whilst inside the address, the man and woman stole three bank cards belonging to the elderly woman. 

Fraudulent transactions have since been made with the bank cards in Ripon and Darlington.

Officers are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, they are appealing for information about the identity of the people in the CCTV images as officers would like to speak to them in connection with the incident.
