A DARLINGTON resident was left in awe yesterday at the "beautiful" sight of a rainbow lighting up town's railway station clock tower.
Siobhan McEvoy and her husband, who live in Merrybent, were on their way to Sainsbury's when they saw a bright, colourful rainbow ending right on top of Darlington Train Station at around 4.30pm yesterday, October 27.
Mrs McEvoy, who was a passenger in the car while her husband drove, said: "After such a wet and damp day it was beautiful to see the bright rainbow light up the station clock tower.
"Straight away my husband said I needed to take a photo. It was so lovely and sends such a positive message of hope for the town.
"Rainbows are normally so high in the sky so for this one to be right over the top of the clock tower was just beautiful."
